Forex Position Size Calculator
Calculate rounded lots from cash risk, a pip or price-based stop, and optional cost estimates.
Entered costs reduce the available position size. These estimates do not guarantee fills or limit loss from gaps or slippage.

How it works
Cash budget = balance × risk % / 100. Raw lots = max(0, cash budget − fixed costs) ÷ (stop pips × pip value per lot + costs per lot). Round down to the broker lot increment, then recheck total modeled risk. A zero position has no modeled trade costs.
A worked example
For a $10,000 USD account, a 1% budget and a 30-pip EUR/USD stop, a standard lot has a $10 pip value. Without entered costs, a 0.01-lot step rounds the raw 0.3333 lots down to 0.33, giving $99 price risk. With $7 estimated costs per lot and $2 fixed costs, rounded size becomes 0.31 lots and modeled risk including costs is $97.17.
